A Notation . . .

This cemetery sits next to Homestead Cemetery and behind the church.  It dates back to the early to mid 1800s. There are recent burials in this cemetery which date back to about two years ago. Some of the older headstones are lying on their backs, a lot of them have fallen over and some are in the woods next to the cemetery. Any headstone which could be seen was examined as best as possible for anything legible. Probably many graves were unmarked or their headstones are long gone.

Tombstone inscriptions from the Anne Ashley UM Cemetery, Munhall, Allegheny, PA:

Alexander Law born 15 May 1800 died 2 December 1866
On one side of Alexander's stone is his first wife Rebecca (Ferrell) Law born ? April 1800, death date not readable
(This stone apparently no longer exists)
On the other side of Alexander is his second wife, Nancy Law, born 1790 and died 12 Sep. 1865.
James Kennedy, born 14 June 1828 and died 24 March 1894
Catherine Law Kennedy w/o James Kennedy born 1832 or 1842, died ? ? 1907.
Additional Comments:
The above information was copied by me Sylvia Kelley, in the mid 1980's and agrees with family Bible and census records. In a recent recording of the Anne Ashley U M Cemetery the stones were so deteriorated that much of the above information was unreadable or missing.
Location of stones: Coming down the hill from the Homestead Cemetery and crossing over into the Anne Ashley Cemetery,  the above stones would be to your right facing down hill.
Catherine Law Kennedy is a daughter of Alexander Law.
Alexander Law's information is incorrectly copied in a book of Franklin Cemetery,(Anne Ashley) which I found about 30 years in the PA Room at, I believe, the Carnegie Library. -- (SK)
