Filomena Taddeo
Filomena Taddeo DeLuca, 96, of Hopewell Township, died Sunday, January
19,1997, in the UPMC Beaver Valley. Born Aug. 112,1900 in Abruzzi
Italy, a daughter of the late Fred and Johanna Rossi Taddeo, she was a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ since 1925, and was an active
member of the Ladies Uplift Circle of the Church. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Luigi DeLuca on Jan 24, 1984, a daughter Deborah
D'Antonio, a grandson Ryan G. Ross, four brothers Mike, Ted, Emanuel
and Carmine Taddeo, and two sisters, Concetta D'Antonio and Maria
Rossi. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law David and Philomenia
DeLuca, and Matthew and Charlotte DeLuca and four daughters and two
sons-in-law Eleanor and Paul Palmieri, Jennie and Louis Ross, Susan
Breschayko and Josephine Ross all of Hopewell Township, a sister Sabina
D'Antonio, Hopewell Twp.; 12 grand children and 21 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received today from 7-9pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm in
the Darroch Funeral home 2649 Mill St Aliquippa with Apostle Paul
Palmieri officiating. Internment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park

DiLUCA (DeLuca), Luigi
Luigi DiLuca (DeLuca) 82 of 300 Division St , Aliquippa died Tuesday
January 24, 1984 in the Aliquippa Hospital following an extended
illness. Born June 26, 1901, in Montonerodomo, Province of Chieti
(Abruzzi, Italy), he was the son of Joseph and Philomena Tiberio
DiLuca, was a retired bricklayer of Jones and Laughlin Steel
Corporation, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Aliquippa for over
50 years, and a member of CIO Local 1211 United Steelworkers of
America. Surviving are his wife Filomena Taddeo DiLuca; two sons David
and Matthew , both of Aliquippa ; four daughters Mrs. Thomas
(Josephine) Ross and Mrs. Paul (Eleanor) Palmieri, all of Aliquippa; 13
grand children; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Theodor DiLuca ,
Chieti, Italy and a sister Mrs. Eva DeCecco Chieti, Italy. He was
preceded in death by a daughter Deborah D'Antonio, May 27, 1972.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today in the Darroch
Funeral Home 2640 Mill St Aliquippa, where services will be conducted
Friday at 9:30 am followed by additional services at 10 in the Church
of Jesus Christ. Internment will be Woodlawn Cemetery.

JENKINS, Bertha
Bertha K. Jenkins, 90, of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully Friday,
Nov. 16, in Atlanta, Ga. She was predeceased by her husband, Jessie,
her parents and 15 siblings. She is survived by many relatives and
friends. Friends will be received at Sheffield Mortuary, 920 Franklin
Ave., Aliquippa, Pa., on Saturday at 10 am. Burial will follow at
Woodlawn Cemetery in Aliquippa.

LAWSON, Lizzie
Lawson- Mrs. Lizzie, 52, of 300 Sixth Avenue, Aliquippa, died in the
Providence Hospital, Beaver Falls, Thursday, January 24, 1952 at 5:55
a.m. , following a 10 day illness. She had been a resident of Aliquippa
for 20 years where of the Holy Institutional Baptist Church and the
Daughters of Elks Lodge Magnolia Temple No. 32, Aliquippa. She is
survived by one son, William Green of Youngstown, O.; one sister, Mrs.
Alberta Jones, and one brother, Zach Zachary both of McKeesport, Pa ;
one niece, Willow Lee Flipping, Youngstown, O., and one nephew Clifford
Jones McKeesport. Friends will be received this afternoon and this
evening at the Miller Funeral Home, Aliquippa. Funeral services will be
held in the Holy Institutional Baptist Church, Aliquippa, Saturday,
January 26, at ? (newspaper faded) p.m. with the pastor, Rev. William
Harris, officiating. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mukanos , Spyros 'Speedo'
Spyros "Speedo" Mukanos, 75, of Hopewell Township, died Saturday, March
17, 2001, in his home. Born Dec. 30, 1925, in Aliquippa, a son of the
late James and Irene (Moskes) Mukanos, he was a retired police officer
for the Aliquippa Police Department and was also retired from
UPMC-Beaver Valley, where he worked as a security guard. He was a
member of the St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church and the American
Serbian Club, both in Aliquippa, and the Fraternal Order of Police. Mr.
Mukanos was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II in the
Battle of the Bulge. Surviving are his wife, Nellie (Salaya) Mukanos;
two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Ana Mukanos, Chino Hills,
Calif., and Tim and Lisa Mukanos, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; six
grandchildren, Nicholas, Jeffery, Juli, Christopher, Athena and Alexix,
and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John
and Gus Mukanos. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to
8 p.m. in the WAYNE N. TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME, 2205 McMinn St.,
Aliquippa, where a service will be conducted Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
followed by an additional service at noon in St. Elijah Serbian
Orthodox Church, Aliquippa, with the Very Rev. Stevan Stepanov, his
pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery,
Aliquippa. The Beaver County Special Unit will conduct full military
rites at 12:30 p.m. Pomen (blessing service) will be held Tuesday at 7
p.m. in the funeral home.

RIDDLE, James E. Jr.
RIDDLE – James E. Jr., 89, formerly of Johnstown, passed away June 4,
2008, in North Hills Passavant Hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1919, in
Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents, James and Vera Mishler Riddle,
and sister, Dorothy Emery. Also preceded in death by first wife, Mary
Hartnett Riddle. Mr. Riddle retired as an engineer from the PA Dept. of
General Services. He was a longtime member of the BPO Elks and recently
honored as a past exalted ruler in Johnstown. He leaves his wife,
Dolores Riddle, Zelienople, Pa.; son, James, and wife, June Riddle,
Lebanon, Pa.; daughters, Sharon, and husband, James Craft, Johnstown;
and Cathy, and husband, Dr. William Bray, Winston-Salem, N.C.;
grandsons, Scott, and wife, Missy Sroka, Pittsburgh, and Bradley and
Justin Riddle; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister,
Dolores and husband, William Horner, Johnstown; brother, Robert Riddle,
Las Cruces, N.M.; also four stepchildren and grandchildren. Burial
Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Aliquippa, Pa. Arrangements by Simpson
Funeral Home, Monaca, Pa.

WHITFIELD- On Sunday, January 17, 1937, Wesley G. Whitfield, aged 61
years, son of the late George H. and Ella McDonald Whitfield. Funeral
services from the home of his sister, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, 123 Orchard
Street, Alliquippa, PA., Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Aliquippa.
