My paternal gr gr grandmother was Christina MEINERT b. 23 Sept. 1814 in Bruschied, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Her parents were Johann Adam MEINERT (1788-1860) and Anna Catharina PETRY (1792-1848).
Christina MEINERT married 26 May 1838 to Heinrich (Henry) GEMMEL b 13 Jan. 1814. They were blessed with 9 children, one of which was Anna "Christina" GEMMEL b. 24 June 1845 and d. 10 Feb. 1922 in Sharpsburg, Pa. She immigrated 9 Apr. 1868 thru Hamburg, Germany.
Anna "Christina" GEMMEL married 1st to Jacob FORSTER (1827/32-1890) and raised 8 children. After Jacob's death, she remarried 13 Sept. 1899 to George ESCHMAN b.13 May 1840 & d. 13 Feb. 1915. One of Jacob & "Christina's" daughters was my grandmother, Mary C. FORSTER b. 16 Sept. 1876 & d. 20 Nov. 1960.
Mary FORSTER married 21 Jan. 1896 to John N. MIMM, b. 4 Feb. 1864 & d. 18 Mar. 1934. John was the son of Joseph MIMM (1830-1876) and Margaretha GANSTER (1839-1910/20). Margaretha was the daughter of John & Catherine GANSTER of Etna, Pa. A son of John & Mary MIMM was my father, Regis George MIMM b. 18 Dec. 1906 & d. 13 July 1964.
Regis married 12 Dec. 1932 to Irene Olga GOLKE b. 22 May 1916 & d. 24 Oct. 1979. On my maternal side, Irene GOLKE's parents were Gustave R. GOLKE b. 13 Jan. 1882 & d. 17 June 1958 and Olga S. HAMMERMEISTER b. 26 May 1886 & d. 19 Sept. 1960. Gustave & Olga married 25 Nov. 1904 and divorced in 1919. Olga remarried first, Felix BLASZKIEWICZ (1877-1938) then Charles P. ARNOLD b. 10 July 1881 & d. 28 Jan. 1966. Olga's father was Samuel HAMMERMEISTER b. 28 Feb. 1864 & d. 23 Mar. 1959 in Germany.
Most of these families are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sharpshill, Pa., some without stones. Other internment sites in Allegheny County are Allegheny Cemetery, Jefferson Memorial Park & St. Joseph's Cemetery in Sharpshill, Pa.
While looking at some print-outs we have from Latter Day Saints, I found a Joannis GEMMEL who married Maria Elisabetha MAYNARTIN (MEINERT?) on 17 Feb. 1789 in Oldenburg. Also found 3 children for them, Maria Margaretha GEMMEL, chr. 22 June 1790, Anna Elisabetha GEMMEL, chr. 22 Nov. 1791, & Joannes GEMMEL, chr. 23 Oct. 1793. Could this be the grand-daughter of Johann Thomas MEINERT who married Eva Elisabeth FEY? The marriage month & year are the same.
Found this on a print-out from LDS: Batch or film #994571 on GEMMEL (Dau. of Johann Nikolaus MEINERT & Elisabetha Catharinae HENN) Maria Elisabetha MEINERT (MAYNARTIN) born Dec. 1765. Married 17-Feb-1789 Oldenburg, Bundenbach to Johannes Thomas GEMMEL born 16 June 1759 Oldenburg.

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA. As a child, I grew up in Homewood. We lived on McComb St, and I attended Holy Rosary School & Church. I later attended Westinghouse High, but left there in the middle of my Jr. year & graduated from Baldwin High in 1958. I married a soldier from Kentucky, where I now live.
Together with my sister, Audrey MIMM SETTELMAIER, of Verona, PA, we have been collecting family tree information for several years. Our family has spread over the years. Our brother Donald MIMM resides in Calabash, NC; sister, Arlene MIMM HARANCHER lives in Zelienople, PA; and sister, Johanna MIMM PECK relaxes in Spring Hill, Florida.
