Walter Branch was the first postmaster.  He was commissioned January 1, 1829.  He held the office fours and then resigned in favor of Horace L. Moulton.  The other postmasters, down to and including the present occupant of the office, are as follows: Z. B. Stilson, Horace L. Moulton (reappointed), David Johnson, Thomas Smith, D. L. Stevens, Frank Evans, Moses Tompkins, Dwight Kellogg and Isaac Harrington.
