Notes

2. Alvin Slawson MCCOMBS

BIOGRAPHY: Alvin Slawson McCombs is my great-grandfather. I don't know very much about him. He died in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Cache County, Utah, where he was killed in 1910, before my father was born, by being run over by a wagon loaded with wood.

3. Elizabeth Felicia ASTLE

BIOGRAPHY: Elizabeth Felicia Astle McCombs is my great-grandmother. My father remembered her as a capable, self-reliant woman who was the town "doctor" and midwife. If she needed something, she invented it and made it. She was about two months pregnant with her eighth child when her husband died. She lived another 32 years, dying at age 74.

CHRISTENING: LDS PAF states that she was "christened" 1 Mar 1868 in Montpelier, Bear Lake, ID. More likely that is a blessing date.
