Notes for Ann DOUGLAS

I recently purchased a copy of "Halifax County, Virginia Court Orders 1770-1771 (Plea Book No. 7 Part 1)" and on page 23 "Halifax Orders 1770-1771, August Court, 1770" the following is shown:
"Nathaniel Terry, Plaintiff, vs. John Wells and Ann, his wife, Executrix of Patrick Boyd, deceased, Defendents, In Case.
The Defendents having departed this life since the last continuance, this suit abates."

This, in effect, will provide other Boyd researchers an official point of reference in documenting the line of Patrick Boyd and Ann Douglas. The book " The Boyds of Boyds Tank" mistakenly shows Ann's name as being "Ann Wells Boyd" whereas it should be "Ann Douglas Boyd." The LDS files, in some instances, also show the incorrect "Wells" connection to Ann Douglas precedent to her marriage to Patrick Boyd.
