More than one family of Greshams came to Kentucky from Virginia in the very
early 1800s. My line was Joseph Abner Gresham who married Martha Blakely, 28
Oct 1823 in Trigg County. By the early 1840s they had a farm in Jasper County
Missouri where in 1843 their daughter, Polly married James D Campbell. The
two families came back to Calhoun County Illinois where they lived and died.
Joseph's Father and GFather were George and William.. I have Joseph's sibs as
James Lewis, Archibald, Joel, Catherine, Wiley, Samuel and William. George had
a brother, Moses (Moza) who had children; John, Mary, Edna J, William, Drury,
James Lawson, Jane, Anderson Boyd and Leander Sharp. You should be able to
find that your James is the son of one of the above. Keep an eye out for my
James D Campbell.
Best of the day, Wayne
