1933 - Caldwell Co., KY
CROW, Nancy Jane. The end came for a beautiful and useful life with the
passing of Mrs. Nancy Jane Crow in the home of her son, L.L. Crow, in
Paducah Tuesday morning. Funeral services were conducted at the residence
in Paducah Thursday morning. The remains arrived here on the noon train and
were conveyed to the family burying ground south of town. In the peaceful
shadows of the great trees she was tenderly laid to rest under a coverlet
of fragrant flowers, beside the loved companion of her youth and among the
scenes she knew in happy girlhood. "Aunt Nan" was beloved by all her wide
acquaintance. Mrs. Crow was born in Caldwell County in 1847 at the old
Gresham homestead on Eddyville Pike. She was the daughter of Leander and
Martha Ann Carter Gresham. She went to Paducah in 1897 and since that time
she has made her home in that city. She was a member of the Saratoga
Methodist Church of Lyon County. She is survived by two sons, L.L. Crow of
Paducah and John Crow of Moline, IL; one daughter, Mrs. J.L. Munal of
Paducah; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Young and Mrs. Alice Hayes, Princeton. She
also leaves 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was a sister
of the late R.L. Gresham of this place and the widow of John Crow, a
prominent farmer of this county.
