JOHN WILLIAM CAMERON
Rites Held for J.W. Cameron
Loyal Member of Mt. Zion Church Passes After Many Years of Service
To His Fellow Man
John William Cameron, born November 4, 1858 , son of James Cameron and Jane Boyd. Was married to Ophelia Soloman, August 9, 1883. Is survived by one brother, J. Lee Cameron and one sister, Mrs Walter Barnes. He was converted at a prayer meeting at Mt Zion Church in 1873 and united with the Church that same year. The Rev. P.L. Hadison was the pastor. He was a true and loyal member for 67 years. Truly the Church was the great passion of his heart. He served as Sunday School Superintendent for 33 years and nearly all of the 67 years he was a faithful steward, being steward emeritus at the time of his passing. The church is joined by all who knew him in extending to his companion of 57 years the tenderest sympathy possible and pray that the Lord who was so precious to Uncle Billy will sustain her in this sad hour. Pallbearers were: Gordon Cameron, Jesse Cameron, Clint Cameron, Charlie Cameron, Joe Cameron, Raymond Wade. Cadiz Record Mar 1940
KATE CAMERON
MISS KATE CAMERON, a well known old lady of Trigg county, died on Christmas morning at Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville of a complication of troubles from which she had been suffering for several years. The remains were brought back to Trigg county and buried on Saturday afternoon at Mt. Zion ,funeral services being conducted by Rev. R.B. Mc Mican, her pastor. She had been a member of Mt. Zion church since 1857. Miss Cameron was eighty two years, four months and four days old and was the last of a large family of children, she had resided for many years with her nephew, Mr. J.W. Cameron, near Wallonia. She was a devoted Christian, a kind and good old lady and had hosts of friends. Cadiz Record - date unknown
