Samuel Day (b: 1730 in NJ, d: Nov 20, 1793 in PA) and Abigail Carter (b: 1732 in NJ
d: Jul 6, 1806 in PA) had a son named Joseph who was born in 1781. The family moved to OH in the 1790s. (The other children were Daniel, Samuel, Joana, and Benjamin.)
Have a little more info if this matches.

I Just checked my files and found some things that I had kept--just in case.
I think you may be right about the right Joseph. linking to Samuel from N.J.
I had kept this Bio for a while & these brothers(including a Joseph Day) all were inWashington Co. PA plus one br. was married in a Morris TWP and one, was married in Jefferson Co. OH., but moved back to Wash. Co.I will keep checking, but the names are quite reptative in this family.A br. of this Joseph in this Bio-- Had a son HE HAD NAMED CYRUS, but died at age 8.
Oh I have a Picture of one of our Cyru's son- with his family in 1878. I will e-mail it to you but where?

Hi..I am also working on the Day family from Morristown, Morris Co, NJ. Very confusing! But I found in my records that Samuel Day, b 1830, moved to Washington Co, PA 1755 was the son of Daniel Day and his wife Mary. They had other children, Benjamin, Timothy, Daniel Jr., Ezekiel, Artemas, Nehemiah (my ancestor), Mary, Jeremiah, and possibly a Desire. Daniel Day is supposed to be decended from George Day and Mary Riggs but information I have has dates that don't make sense. If you find anything on Daniel Day's ancestors, please let me know. e-mail gmf@@ns.gemlink.com

I too have hit a wall with Daniel and Mary. I am searching the line through Daniel's son Ezekial b. 1739 in Morristown, NJ, died 1833 and is buried in Irwin Cemetery, Venango County PA. I would greatly appreciate any help, and share info. Family stories say this line descended from Stephen Day of Cambridge, Mass. He was founder of the Cambridge Press, first Printing Press in English North American Colonies, in 1638. Thanks.

I find two Ezekiel Days.....the first is a son of Daniel Day and his wife Mary ?, b. 1739/40, brother to Benjamin, Samuel, Desire, Timothy, Daniel Jr., Artemas, Nehemiah, Mary, and Jeremiah. No other information on this Ezekiel. The second Ezekiel is the son of the above mentioned Nehemiah Day and his wife Phebe Loree. No birthdate on Ezekiel but brothers and sisters Mary, Daniel, Samuel, Nehemiah Jr, Phebe, and Elizabeth born between 1770 and 1792. Ezekiel moved to Athens, Ohio and married Sarah Bedell. Hilltop Presbyterian Church, Mendham NJ baptismal register shows baptisms for Ephraim, Ezra, Ira Sanders, and Lewis, all sons of Ezekiel between 1817-1825, which indicates that there was still an Ezekiel in NJ during that period. Morris Co NJ Bill of Mortality lists shows an Ezekiel Day died 3 Jan 1777, age 33; a Mary Day, wife of Ezekiel Day, died 14 Jan 1774, age 29; a Phoebe Day, daughter of Ezekiel Day, died 1 Jan 1772, age 6; and Abigail Day, daughter of Ezekiel Day, died 17 Sep 1781, age 9; also "child" Day, child of Ezekiel Day, died 9 Apr 1805 (probably not the same Ezekiel). We are still trying to sort out the parents of Daniel Day, supposed to be Johnathan Day (or possibly Jonathan Day, but dates don't seem to make sense.
