Looking for the ancestors of Wrial (Rial, Riley) Willoughby and
wife Elizabeth Davis Willoughby of Marion and Dillon Co. S.C.
His first wife was named Mary. Children with Mary were Pinckney,
Richard, Susan, Martha, Elizabeth, Riley and Solomon. Children
with Elizabeth were Marion J.D., Duncan Jasper Archibald, Sidney,
and Henrietta.
I'm guessing at the mother for some of these, only have the 1850
and 1860 census to go by. Duncan Jasper Archibald (my g grandfather)
was born 20 Jan, 1859 in Dillon Co. SC. He Married Hattie Estelle
Owen and lived in Florida and Mississippi where he died in 1942.
Would like to hear from anybody on this family.

Wrial Willoughby was the son of Cader/Kader Willoughby and Susannah Moody, of Johnston Co., N.C. who later settled in Robeson Co., NC Cader was married a couple of more times after Susannah, but don't believe he had children by the other wives. Cader Willougby was the son of Richard Willoughby, Jr. and wive (name unknown at this time). Richard of course was the son of Richard Sr. and Margaret Vincent/Vinson (last name of Margaret is not proven). Richard Sr. was the son of Andrew Willoughby, who was the son of William Willoughby of Dorchester/Caroline Co., MD. William was the immigrant ancestor and was the son of a John Willoughby. There is quite a bit more on this line back in England. They go back to the Lord Willoughby de Ersbys. I think that I have traced this line back to Charlemagne. Actually I got the info from someone else, but his notes were hard to read, but I think that is where it took me. Much to much to put here though. If you will e-mail me, I will see if I can give you more detail. The info that I have on Wrial Willoughby was given to me by a Miss Mabel E. Willoughby of Dothan, Alabama, who was the son of Wrial's son Sidney Willoughby. I got this info from Mabel several years back, but unfortunately she has since passed away. I think she was in her late 80's or early 90's. Sidney was married to Sallie Elizabeth Jessup. Mabel wrote a little manuscript on this line of her family. I think she left it to the college library where she went to school, Samford University, if you would want to try to get hold of that info, you might contact that school.
Wrial Willoughby was married a 1st to a Elizabeth Watts and they had 11 children: Pinkney, Richard, Solomon, Martha, Susan, John, William, James, Aaron, Andrew, and Anthony. I have seen some records somewhere that led me to believe that he may have been married a 3rd time and had other children. I don't have that name in front of me at the moment tho. Acccording to Mabel, Wrial/Riley was born in Wilson Co., N.C. 7/17/1808. Both Wrial and Elizabeth (Davis) are buried in the Great Marsh Church Cemetery, in St. Pauls, N.C. (Robeson County). I am not sure, but I think this church is located just off I-95 in St. Pauls, which is just north of Lumberton and south of Fayetteville, N.C.
Kader Willoughby Sr. was married 3 times. First to Susannah Moody in Johnston Co., NC on 12/08/1805. He married, 2nd, a woman named Anna Ivey on May 21, 1836 and 3rd he married Olivia Britt on Sept 16, 1846. He married both of them in Robeson Co., NC.
As far as I have been able to gather, he only had children by his first wife Susannah Moody. I would very much like to share info with you, especially if you have info on the Willoughby family.
For more info e-mail me.
