In 1836, William F. Moore was appointed as guardian to Arena, Elias and Eserey Stoker, minor children of Ambrose and Polly Stoker. These 3 were removed to New Madrid County to live on the Moore Plantation. In the 1840 census, Elias and Arena are living with the Moores, but Eserey is living next door in a separate household with a wife. No Stokers appear in the 1850 census of New Madrid. In 1857, Francis L. Moore, eldest of William F. and Nancy Moore, is appointed administrator of the estate of Green Stoker, who is the brother of Nancy. The 1860 census shows Caroline Caigle, the wife of Green Stoker now remarried, along with William S. Stoker, age 7, Mary A. Stoker, age 5 and Elias G. Stoker, age 4.
