Notes for George Ellsworth SHAWGO

Elder Beebe: By request, I send you the obituary of Eld. GEORGE SHAWGO,
who departed this life July 5, 1862. He was born in Montgomery Co., N.
Y., May 12, 1788. He was a member of the Old School Baptist Church forty
years, and a faithful minister of the gospel twenty-seven years, in all
of which time he proclaimed salvation by grace alone. He preached to his
family and friends twice on his death bed, and told them not to mourn for
him, for all was well. We hope their loss is his unspeakable gain.
