He was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne and at the University of Melbourne where he obta ined his degree in medicine. He went to Ingham, Queensland in 1921, and continued in practic e there until his death. He was made a member of the Order of the British Empire for his ser vices to the community. He made the first diagnosis of Wield's disease in Australia in 1933 . There was a lengthy eulogy in the "Herbert River Express" when he died.
