Memory Work
During formations, inspections, meal times or at any other opportunity, the First Class would drill the Second Class on their knowledge of their "memory work." A student was required to learn the following quotations, rules, and such by a specific date. If you think memorizing "Out, out brief candle..." in high school was difficult, try reciting it with your teacher's nose one inch from your's!
