New York Family Names
|
There are many old burial grounds dotting the hilly county side of this area of NY. I remember visiting some of them with my grandmother and grandfather on summer days. Sometimes it was to have a little picnic and to visit a family grave and others times we just stopped because he liked the look of it. I never remember visiting any of the oldest family members grave sites and will never know if my grandfather even knew were to find them. I can't imagine that we would not have paid them a visit or two if he did.

Conn Families Names
|
We did a quick stop in Wethersfield, Hartford, Endfield Conn. and Springfiled Mass. in the fall of 2000 on our way to Québec City. It was a whirlwind visit to, historical centers, grave sites and memorials. Everywhere we stopped was just about to close, or had just closed. A more leisurely visit is in the works. |

In our fall of 2001 ramble about the south eastern part of Conn. and western edge of RI, we did a tour of the Stonington area and found some very nice sites. A lot was missed and another trip is a must.

We spent some time in the fall of 2001 tramping about the south eastern part of Conn. and the western edge of RI. in search of homesteads and graveyards. We found a few of both but another trip is needed to find the remainder. |
