There have been several members of my family tree that have been in the Armed Forces, all of which have served in the Army. There have been people serving from before, and during, WW1, in the Home Guard, in WW2 and on to service in the modern times.
They have earned many medals including The 1914 Star, The 1914-15 Star, The Victory Medal, The British War Medal, The African Star, The Italian Star and the WWII Service Medal.
The units they have served in have included The Royal Engineers, The Royal Signals, The Royal Horse Artillery and The Irish Guards.
Some have returned from War as heroes, some have been discharged due to injuries they received and there have been many that haven't returned. These are remembered on Memorials across the world.
