April 2002 My husband and I visited Crawford Co. with township plat maps in hand from 1855. These showed the location of Heller farms. Here are photos of the ones we found:

• J. Heller of Holmes twp. Section 19 (now a Limestone quarry!)

• Daniel J. Heller of Holmes twp. Section 22 (photo 1)

• Daniel J. Heller of Holmes twp. Section 22 (photo 2)

• J. Heller of Holmes twp. Section 27 (photo 1)

• J. Heller of Holmes twp. Section 27 (photo 2)

Do you know what the "J" stands for in each of these? Is it Jacob, John, Jonas...?

Isaac Heller's great-grandson Phillip Heller, b. 1824 settled and had the eight of his ten children in Jackson twp., Wyandot County near the town of Forest, OH.
He raised his children and lived there in Wyandot county until his death in 1906.
I sent for his military records and have scanned them and put them here to view:

These pages are interesting, if you have a Civil War ancestor you should send for their documents.
Ya never know what goodies you will get!
   Philip is my ggg-grandfather and Isaac is my 6th great-grandfather.
