James Marshall Burt, Jr.
     James Marshall BURT Jr., son of James Marshall BURT and Florence BEDELL, was born on 29 September 1900 in Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.1

James Marshall BURT Jr. traveled to Europe on 20 June 1924. He sailed from the port of New York on a trip to England, France, Germany and Italy aboard the Saxonia. According to his passport application the purpose of the trip was for travel and study. He was listed as a student living in Opelika. He was described as 22 years old, six foot two, high forehead, brown eyes, black hair, and dark complexion.1 He graduated in 1925 at The University of Alabama . He received a law degree and was student body president.

James married Anne Jemison WOODWARD on 24 February 1931 at the County Courthouse in Miami, Dade County, Florida.2

James Marshall BURT Jr. died on 10 August 1960 in Baden-Baden, Germany, at age 59.3 He was buried in Hauptfriedhof, Baden-Baden, Germany.3
