     Theo Milton HUNT, son of Arrington Julius HUNT and Nellie Maude SHAFFER, was born on 11 September 1920 in Autauga County, Alabama.1

Theo Milton HUNT served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II enlisting on 18 July 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a member of the Third Battalion, Eleventh Marines Regiment. First Marine Division. He was assigned to the artillery as a telephone lineman. He fought at New Britian 26 Dec 1943, Pelelieu 15 Sep 1944, Okinawa 1 Apr 1944, and New Guinea. He received a bronze meta for gallantry.

He wrote his former employer, movie theatre owner, Bill Cooper, "I have been out of the States for almost two years now and have done a lot of traveling. Have seen the South Sea islands the hard way. Did spend some time in Australia, which I enjoyed very much... We are back in combat now on Pelelieu. It has been plenty rugged but the situation seems pretty secure now... Have had a few close calls but came through everthing fine."

Theo Milton HUNT died on 29 September 1998 in Pleasant Grove, Alabama, at age 78. He was buried in Forest Grove Memorial Gardens.
