     Emsley Parks Burt, son of William BURT, was born on 9 August 1820 in North Carolina.1

Emsley married Frances Jane Tiller on 15 June 1843 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Randolph Tiller and Jane Lacy.1

Emsley saw military service between 1861 and 1865 in Oglethorpe County as a private in Tiller's Company, Georgia Light Artillery (Echols Light Artillery.)

Emsley Parks Burt died on 8 May 1883 in Veribest, Oglethorpe County, Georgia, at age 62.2 He was buried in Elmsley Parks Burt Cemetery.
