     Alexander KENNEDY immigrated in 1763 to Charleston, South Carolina. He is believed to have come here from Scotland.2

Alexander married Jane (?) circa 1769 in South Carolina.3

Alexander KENNEDY was granted land 13 September 1784 in Old 96 District, South Carolina. It contained 140 acres on Tosetys Creek, a branch of the Salluda River. The plat was bounded on the northeasst by Paul Abney's land.

Alexander KENNEDY appeared on the 1790 Federal Census of Edgefield County, South Carolina, listing two males 16 & over, one male under 16 and four females. The household was listed next to Dannett Abney and three houses away from Sam Abney, Jr.4

Alexander KENNEDY died circa 1793 in Edgefield County, South Carolina.5

His estate was probated on 4 November 1793 in Edgefield District, South Carolina. At that time a bond was posted by Jane Kennedy, John Abney, and Paul Abney stating that Alexander Kennedy, deceased, had left no will. Jane Kennedy was appointed administratrix and ordered that the estate be inventoried and appraised within ninety days. The appraisers were John Abney, Paul Abney, Thomas Spraggins and Benjamin Burton. Nathaniel Abney was judge of probate.6
