     Virginia ABNEY, daughter of Zachariah ABNEY and Jennie Mae Bryson, was born on 23 January 1909 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas.1

Virginia ABNEY appeared in a newspaper article 4 January 1928 in the The Marshall News Messenger, published in Marshall, Texas. Mrs. Abney has Pretty Diner-- Honoring her daughter, Virginia, and her guest, Miss Mozelle Richie of Atlanta, Mrs. Zack Abney entertained with an informal dinner partty Monday evening at therir home at Washington Place. Red candles tied to bows of green tulle, lighhted the table set for six guests and a bowl of red carnations formed the center piece. Guests were Mriss Ritchie, Miss Cleo Pressler and Miss Abney, Robert Rosborough, Van Lewis and Zack Abney.

Miss Abney Entertains for Two Visitors-- Honoring Miss Mozelle Richey, of Atlanta, and Miss Bess Kinnebrew of Homer, La., Miss Virginia Abney entertained with three tables of bridge Saturday morning at the Mayme Hudson Tea Room. Pink rosebuds in slender vases centered the tables when a delicious two course luncheon in which the colors of pink and green were carried out, was served. Tallies, score pads and other bridge accessories were in pink and green and the favors presented the honor guests were tied in pink and green. Miss Richey and Miss Kinnebrew left for their homes Sunday afternoon after a short visit with Miss Abney.

Virginia ABNEY died on 6 March 1998 in Texas at age 89.1 She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Jefferson, Marion County, Texas.1
