** Transcriber's Notes **

Please Note: There is a note in the left margin that appears to have
been sheared off, at least in the on-line censuses version. No effort is
being made here to include microfilm versions. What is visible, seems to
end with the words: "... farther that Hearsay"(?). Another note at the top
left margin is illegible to due to quality of original document. There is
no way to tell whether the notes had been made initially in reference to the
orphanage transcribed above.

Columns above represent name, relation, color, gender, birth month, birth
year, age, birth place, father's birth place, mother's birth place, year of
immigration, years in United States, naturalization, occupation, months
unemployed, months at school, can read, can write, can speak English, home
or farm.

Columns omitted are years married, number of children, number of living
children, home owned or rented, home owned free or mortgaged, number of farm
schedule.

Transcriber used the abbreviations Ger for Germany, Ill for Illinois, NR for
No Record, Asst for Assistant, Miss for Missouri, Ken for Kentucky, N York
for New York, Wis for Wisconsin, Ire for Ireland, Boh for Bohemia, Switz for
Switzerland, Mary for Maryland, and Y for yes.

Address of Orphanage: Vine Street (house number not given in census).
This census was taken June 1, 1900 by Sidney P. Landcraft, Enumerator.
