ARRIVAL OF THE BLACK SWAN

The ship Black Swan, Captain White, from London, arrived in harbour early this morning after a passage of 19 days. She left Gravesend on the 21st December, and the Channel on the 3rd January. In the Bay of Biscay very heavy gales were experienced, and the weather was very heavy until off the Island of Maderia (sic). The line was crossed on the 12th February, the Cape was passed on the 7th March, and the shores of New Zealand sighted on Tuesday last, the 24th inst. The Black Swan brings out 86 passengers, all in good health, and a large cargo consigned to J Johnston and co. Dr Ashton is in medical charge of the vessel.
