ARRIVAL OF THE CHINA
Nelson Examiner January 12th 1856

TO THE EDITOR OF THE 'NELSON EXAMINER'
Sir - Your report of the arrival of the China, after naming the chief cabin passengers, concludes by summing up the remainder as 63 assisted immigrants. Will you permit me to correct this error, there being intermediate passengers equal to 15½ statute adults, viz., Names have been included in the passenger list:

                                                                                                                      I am, sir, &c.,
                                                                                                                                       AN INTERMEDIATE

[We willingly print the above letter, and assure the writer that the error was an inadvertent one. We have also received another letter on the same subject, signed by several of the fore-cabin passengers, but we think that on reflection they will thank us for withholding it from publication. - Ed. N E ]

The following Testimonial, to which 82 signatures were attached, was presented to the Surgeon of the China:-
