ARRIVAL OF THE EP BOUVERIE

The fine ship E.P. Bouverie, Captain Stephen, 997 tons, arrived in harbour this morning. She left London on the 10th and the Downs on the 12th July, and experienced light head winds to the Equator, which was crossed on the 17th August. Passed the Cape on the 16th September, and made a capital run of 28 days thence to Cape Farewell, which was sighted last Tuesday, the 14th inst. Thence hither she encountered strong S E winds, which have delayed her nearly a week. There are 189 souls on board, or 157 statute adults including 60 or 70 children. There has been no sickness on board - three births occurred, and one death, that of an immigrant, Mrs Savoury, who died in childbirth, and was buried off Stephens Island. The child is living and is likely to do well. The E.P. Bouverie sighted a fore-and-aft schooner, apparently a yacht, to the westward of Tristan d' Acunha. She brings a large general cargo, and some railway material, including four locomotives. She will be entered at the Customs to-morrow.
