ARRIVAL OF THE NEW ERA
Nelson Examiner and New Zealand Chronicle June 30th 1855

The Zingari spoke a large vessel from London entering Wellington Heads, but did not ascertain her name. She also reports seeing a brigantine bound to Wellington, apparently in ballast, and a large square-rigged veasel bound to the southward. The English ship seen at the heads will prove, in all, probability, to be the New Era, advertised toleave London early in March. The Zingari brings no intelligence of the vessels missings.

...and the Gazelle in search of cargo. By the latter vessel we have received a small addition to our number of some 25 passengers, who left Great Britain in the New Era, and were transferred to the Gazelle at Wellington. Our new arrivals are mostly friends of old colonists, and have been induced by their friends here to join us.
