With respect to the embarkation return of emigrants on board the "Sir Charles Forbes" in May 1842, it appears that DanL the son of George Moulder aged 6 years and Thomas the infant child of Mrs Maddox under 1 year old who to my knowledge were on board, are omitted in the Surgeons return.

BROWNE family:
John and Harriett Browne and their family (Sarah, Mary Ann, Ellen and William), on the Sir Charles Forbes arrived at Nelson in 1842.  Don't know all that much about them yet, but I'm descended from their daughter Ellen, who married twice, first to Thomas CUMMINS (or CUMMINGS) in Nelson in 1853, and second to Alfred ALLPORT in Nelson in 1865 after Thomas CUMMINGS had died in 1863. When John Browne died in 1894 there was a coroner's inquest on his death, and the verdict was "dislocation of spine, accidental, knocked down by a bull"!  If you have a connection with this family or would like to know more please contact Margaret Robinson.
