Re-crossed the river, and advanced in line of battle to near Brandy Station. [Welch, p.504; Dyer, v.3, p.1604]

14 Bristoe Campaign continued.
At 2 am, the regiment fell back, and recrossed river to Beverly Ford. A few hours later, they were deployed as flankers and reached Manassas Plains. About dusk, the Confederates attacked the 2nd Corps at Bristoe Station; the regiment went to their assistance at the double-quick. After the attack was repulsed, they resumed the march. (According to Walter, it was repulsed before they arrived.) About 10 or 11 pm, they were marching again, and reached high ground near Centreville about 2 am, wet and hungry.
