At 2 am, the regiment fell back, and recrossed river to Beverly Ford. A few hours later, they were deployed as flankers and reached Manassas Plains. About dusk, the Confederates attacked the 2nd Corps at Bristoe Station; the regiment went to their assistance at the double-quick. After the attack was repulsed, they resumed the march.
