The 91st began this month in the Second Brigade, First Division, Fifth Army Corps, of the Army of the Potomac. It was then transferred to the Third Brigade, First Division, Fifth Army Corps. The siege of Petersburg continued. [Dyer, v.3 p.1604]

Sellers said that the following men deserved the medal of honor: Archibald Nimmo (C) and Edward Gamble (B) "for conspicuous gallantry in carrying the Colors in the two charges made on the enemy's works in front of Petersburg, on the 18" of June 64 in the latter of which both were wounded", and Franklin G Wolfinger (K) "for taking the Colors after the color bearers were wounded and waving them defiantly in face of the enemy. Carried them safely through under a heavy fire".
