Closing of the United States Hospital at York, Pa.

YORK, Pa., Aug. 2--The United States Army Hospital at York, Pa., is virtually closed. All the patients were disposed of by transfer, muster out and discharge by the 27th ult. The hospital accomodated two thousand four hundred patients, and was one of the best-arranged and located in the State. The Surgeon, S. J. W. Mintzer, United States Volunteers, has been ordered by the War Department Bureau of Refugees and Abandoned Lands to report to Brigadier-General E. M. Gregory, Assistant Commissioner at Galveston, Texas, for duty, as Medical Inspector of the Department. A sale of the Government property at this hospital will be held at York, Pa., on Wednesday, August 9.
