312 of the men in the 91st were drafted, including 53 transfered from the 118th Pennsylvania and 23 from the 62nd Pennsylvania.
282 were substitutes, including 24 transfered from the 118th Pennsylvania and 4 from the 62nd Pennsylvania.
The remainder (about 70%) were volunteers.
