1850 census

[1850 US census, Pennsylvania, Berks County, Pike Township, microfilm series M432, film 754, page 457 verso = 916 handwritten = 20 handwritten to 458 recto = [21] handwritten = 917 handwritten (FamilySearch)]
[identification is speculative:]
[(a) the most plausible other candidate I have found is the Jeremiah Boyer living in Clarion County with Neri and Mary Boyer (about whom see the note on the 1860 US census below)]
[(b) I have not found Rubin Boyer (my Jeremiah's apparent (?) father). Could Catharine be his mother, perhaps living with her parents? That would explain her being in the middle of the apparent Moyer family! Note that John's death certificate lists his mother's name as Catharine Moyer!]
[(c) her age and sex (if recorded correctly!) seem to exclude the Jeremiah Boyer (6 months old, born PA, female) was living in Lower Heidelberg Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, with Jeremiah (38, farmer, born PA), Christiann (40, b. PA) and other Boyer's (microfilm series M432, film 753, page 470 recto = 937 handwritten [FamilySearch)]

1860 census

[1860 US census, Pennsylvania, Berks, Pike Township, microfilm series M653, film 1076, page 658 = 67 handwritten (FamilySearch)]
[I did not transcribe the seven other people in this household, headed by John Berchert (59, farmer, b. PA)]
[identification is speculative:]
[(a) the only other candidate I have found is the Jeremiah Boyer (14) living with his apparent parents Neri and Mary Boyer in Ashland Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania (FamilySearch); according to numerous family trees on Ancestry, this Jeremiah Boyer married Rachel Weaver and died on 28 January 1908, in Sugarcreek, Venango County, Pennsylvania; his location also makes him less likely than the Berks County Jeremiah]
[(b) the Ancestry family tree listed as source 18 above has Rubin and Catharine Boyer as his parents]
[(c) a Rubin ("Rhubin") Boyer is living in Ruscomanor, Berks County, Pennsylvania, with Mary (55--perhaps his wife), and children Elisabeth (13), Benjamin (11), Charles (9), Caroline (7), and Mary (4) (microfilm series M653, film 1076, page 860 = 100 handwritten [FamilySearch])]
[Perhaps this is the Reuben Boyer who was born on 18 October 1817 in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania to John Boyer (born Berks County) and Catharine H (born Berks County), and died on 4 July 1909 in Bucynis, Coshocton, Ohio (see the Ohio death record available in FamilySearch)]
[(d) the John and Mary Moyer in the 1850 census entry transcribed above are living in Pike Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, with no Jeremiah or Catharine Boyer (microfilm series M653, film 1076, page 661 = 70 handwritten [FamilySearch])]
