After the war

In 1880, he was living in Buckeye Township, Stephenson County, Illinois (5). He was living with his wife Mary, and children Sarah, John, and Hattie (5). He was a farmer (5).

On 28 May 1892, he applied successfully from Illinois for a pension (3, 4).

He died in 1894 (4).

On 28 April 1894, his widow, Mary Brown, applied successfully from Illinois for a pension (3, 4).
