During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 5 December 1861 (1, 2, 3). He enlisted at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2). He was mustered in, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a private in company I (1, 2, 5).

He was discharged on 19 May 1862 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 3). He was a private, in company I (5).

After the war

On 11 July 1890, he applied successfully from New Jersey for a pension (3, 4).
