After the war

On 3 October 1868, he was naturalized, in the District Courts of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (on a soldiers' application) (3). He was living in West Deer Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (3). He was sponsered by Clark Kissic (3).

In 1870, he was living in West Deer Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (4). He was living with Julia Childs (presumably his wife), and with James, David, Jesse, and Rebecca (presumably their children) (4). He was a coal miner, and owned $1,300 in real estate (4).
