Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 5 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, dark eyes, and dark hair (4, 5).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 2 February 1864 (1, 4, 5). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia Pennsylvania, by Captain Lane (4, 5). He was mustered in at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Lane (4, 5). He was a private in company D (1, 12, 13, 14).

On 1 March 1864, Colonel Gregory detached him to collect conscripts, at Philadelphia (2). He returned from detached service on 16 April 1864 (6).

He entered Filbert Street General Hospital on 29 November 1864 (4).

He was not on the muster-out roll (1, 12 (pvt co.D), 13 (pvt co. D), 14 (pvt co. D)).

After the war

On 13 July 1865, he applied successfully for a pension (7, 10).

In 1890, he was living at 2020 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (8, 9). He was a moulder (9).

He died on 15 October 1902, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of rapid consumption (10 [16 Oct], 11). He was then married (11). He died at or was buried from 2936 Page Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (11). He was buried at Mt Peace Cemetery (11).

On 23 October 1908 [?], his widow, Catharine Christy, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (7, 10).
