During the war

He seems not to have been charged for lost equipment, perhaps when the regiment mustered out. [source: 2]

He married Hettie Drumheller, probably in 1867/1868. She was born in 1845. They had the following known children:

In 1870, he was living in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was living with Hetty (presumably his wife), Clinton (presumably their son), and with Louis Frankinfield. He was an overseer at a lime quarry. He owned $300 in personal property. [source: 11]

In 1880, he was living in Upper Saucon, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Hettie, and children Harvey, Harry [?], and Eliza. He was a laborer. [source: 12]

His wife, Esther Clauser, died in 1882. She was buried in the Friedensville Cemetery, Friedensville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. [source: 19]

He married Matilda Catharine Keiper Lerch. She was born in 1855. [source: 19]

In 1890, he was living in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. [source: 6]

Matilda Clauser died in 1895. She was buried in the Friedensville Cemetery, Friedensville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. [source: 19]

On 9 December 1899, in Centre Valley, Upper Saucon Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania, he married Eliza Mohr (then Mrs Eliza Clymer). She was born on 3 February 1850, in Upper Saucon, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer, living in Lower Saucon, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; she was living in Centre Valley. In 1900, he was living in Upper Saucon Valley, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his third wife, Eliza, two of his children (Harvey and Annie), and Eliza's son William T Clymer. He was a farmer. [source: 13]

He again applied for a pension on 7 January 1908. [source: 4]

In 1910, he was living in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Eliza. He was a farmer, on a home farm. [source: 14]

Personally appeared Orlando B. Clauser who, being duly sworn according to law, did depose and say that he was born in Berks County Pa on the Eighteenth day of December A.D. 1845; that he resides at Lower Saucon, Pa;; that his occupation is Farmer; that he is not related by blood or marriage to the person whom he desires to marry; that he has been married before and the marriage was dissolved by death.
That Mrs Eliza Clymer whom Orlanda B. Clauser is about to marry, was born in Upper Saucon, Pa. on the Third day of February A.D. 1850 that she resides at Centre Valley, Pa; that her occupation is housework; that she has been married before and the marriage was dissolved by death.
That he knows of no reason why the said marriage should not be lawfully made.

Sworn to and subscribed, this First day of December 1899, before Milton P. Cashner J.P. And now December fourth A.D. 1899, Application received and filed, and the Clerk of the Orphans' Court being satisfied that the above answers are genuine a Marriage License in due form of law did issue.


Now, this 12th day of December A.D. 1899, there was received and filed a certificate, as follows, to wit:--

I hereby certify, that on the Ninth day of December A.D. 1899, at Centre Valley Mr. Orlando B. Clauser and Mrs Eliza Clymer were by me united in Marriage, in accordance with license issued by the Clerk of the Orphans' Court of Northampton County, Pennsylvania, numbered 8059
