During the war

He joined company C on 1 April 1864 (3). He was reported absent without leave on 21 April 1864 (4). He was reported returned from absent without leave on 23 April 1864 (5).

He deserted on 29 April 1864, at Warrenton Junction, Virginia (3). On 9 June 1864, he was reported deserted from York [?], Pennsylvania (6). He was dropped as a deserter on 3 September 1864 (13).

He was discharged by general order on 11 March 1868, to date from 10 July 1865 (1, 2). He was a musician in company C (14, 16 (pvt), 17 (pvt)).

After the war

On 11 January 1872 [?], he applied unsuccessfully for a pension (11, 14).

He married Emily [unknown family name] (15). She was born in July 1854, in Pennsylvania (12).

In 1880, he was living in Denver, Colorado (7). He was 32 years old, had been born in Pennsylvania, and was a plasterer (7). He was living with his wife, Emily Collison (30, born in Pennsylvania), and four children (7):

He was in the Colorado Grand Army of the Republic, post 4, Denver, Colorado (7).

He died on 19 May 1888 (14).

On 19 January [?] 1888, his widow, Emily Collison, applied successfully from Colorado for a pension (11, 14).

In 1890, his widow, Emily Collison, was living at 1541 Lingo, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (9). She was a grocer (9).

In 1900, his family was living at 8a Bavaria [?], in the 26th ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (12). His widow, Emily Collison, was 45 years old, born in Pennsylvania, and had had ten children, five of whom were living (12). She was renting the house (12). Her five children were living with her (12):

His widow, Emily Collison, died on 16 July 1916 (15).
