Before the war

He was born in 1820/22 (3 (43 in 1865), 7 [39 in 1860], 8 [49 in 1870]). He was born in Pennsylvania (7, 8).

In 1860, he was living in Warriors Mark Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania (7). He was a laborer, and owned $50 in personal property (7). He was living with his wife Phebe, and with Malinda, Samuel, and Hays (presumably their children) (7).

During the war

He was drafted (1, 3). He enlisted and was mustered into service on 15 March 1865 (1, 3, 4). He was mustered in as a private, at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania (3). He was a private in company B (1, 9).

He may have been charged for lost equipments, perhaps when the regiment mustered out (2).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 3, 4). He was a private, in company B (9).

After the war

In 1870, he was living in Warriors Mark Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania (8). He was a laborer, and owned $1,050 in real estate and $250 in personal property (8). He was living with his wife Phebe, and with Belinda, Samuel, Hays, Jenny, Isaac, and Milton (presumably their children) (8).

In 1890, he was living in Warriors Mark Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania (6). He reported one disability: chronic diarrhea (6).

On 14 July 1890, he successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension (4, 5).

He again applied for a pension on 4 March 1907 (4).

He died on 14 November 1908 (4).
