He was a substitute (1, 2). He enlisted and was mustered into service on 23 March 1865 (1, 2, 3, 5). He was enlisted for one year, at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, by Captain Lloyd (2). He reported for duty on 23 March 1865 (2). His service was credited to the seventeenth congressional district (2). He was a private in company D (1, 5, 7).

He was absent, in hospital, when the regiment mustered out (1).

He mustered out on 2 August 1865 (5). He was a private, in company D (7). He had served for 4 months and 9 days (5).

After the war

He was 28 years old when he was first married (4).

In 1890, he was living in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington (5).

On 18 May 1891, he successfully applied from Washington for a pension (3, 6).

He again applied for a pension on 15 July 1907 (3).

In 1930, he was living on River Road West, Fruit Valley Precinct, Clark County, Washington (4). He was not working (4).

He died on 12 March 1931, at Vancouver, Washington (3).
