During the war

He was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania to company F of the 91st Pennsylvania on 1 June 1865 (1, 2, 9). He was a private in company F in the 91st Pennsylvania (1, 9).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 2). He was a private, in company F (9).

After the war

In 1872/73, he married Sarah E Zeller (6, 8). In 1900, she had had three children, two of whom were alive (6).

In 1880, he was living in Winchester Village, Preble County, Ohio (5). He was a shoemaker (5). He was living with his wife Sallie, and their children Ella, James, and Kittie (5).

In 1890, he was living in Lewisburg, Preble County, Ohio (4).

On 16 July 1890 he applied successfully from Ohio for a pension (3, 7).

In 1900, he was living in Harrison Township, Preble County, Ohio (6). He was a shoemaker, and had been out of work for six months (6). He was living with his wife Sarah and granddaughter Ruby (6).

In 1905 [sic], he died (8). He was buried in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg, Preble County, Ohio (8).

On 27 October 1904, his widow, Sarah C Doan, applied successfully from Ohio for a pension (3, 7).

On 16 February 1907, his widow, Sarah Zeller Doan, died (8). She was buried in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg, Preble County, Ohio (8).
