Before the war

He was born in 1823/24 (5 (37 in 1861)). He was born in Ireland (5).

When he enlisted, he was a laborer (5).

Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 4 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, dark eyes, and dark hair (5).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 3 October 1861 (1, 5, 6). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Peirce [?] (5). He was a private in company F (1, 9).

He was apparently reported missing during the Battle of Chancellorsville in May 1863 (7, 8 [missing]).

He was at Camp Convalescent, Alexandria, Virginia, on 8 September 1863, when Lieutenant Colonel Sinex asked for his return (2).

He was transferred on 1 or 2 September 1863 to the Veterans' reserve corps (1, 3, 4, 5 [1 Sep], 6). When he was transferred, he was a private, in company F (9). He served in the 54th company of the 1st battalion of the Veterans' Reserve Corps (6). He served in the 11th company of the 1st battalion of the Veterans' Reserve Corps (6). He served in company E of the 3rd Veterans' Reserve Corps (6).

After the war

On 11 February 1874, he successfully applied for a pension (6).

On 1 July 1907, he again applied for a pension (6).

He died on 10 October 1908 (6).
