Before the war

He was born in 1818/19 (5 (43 in 1862)). He was born in Ireland (5).

When he enlisted, he was a workma[n] (5).

Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 9 [?] inches tall, and had a dark complexion, dark eyes, and dark hair (5).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 30 July 1862 (1, 5, 7). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Gregory (5). He was a private in company F (1, 8, 9, 10).

His clothing was issued by the Adjutant General's Department, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (5).

On 19 April 1863, he was sent to the corps hospital (2).

He was transferred on 15 July 1863 to the Veterans' reserve corps (1, 3, 4, 5, 7). When he was transferred, he was a private, in company F (8, 9, 10). He served in company E [?] of the 3rd regiment of the Veterans' reserve corps (7).

On 14 August 1864, he returned to the regiment from hospital (6).

After the war

On 21 November 1870, he applied unsuccessfully for a pension (7).
