Note on identification

Two issues trouble me about my identifications, and make me worry that I am conflating two different Stephen Eastwick's.

First, he is listed as widowed in the 1900 and 1910 census entries below, but his widow applied for a pension, and if I have identified her correctly was still alive in 1900 (though listed as widowed herself). (However, she did not actually receive a pension, according to the index cards.)

Second, the records most clearly linked to service in the 91st have him born in 1833/34. (That includes the descriptive roll (entry 6), and the National Home records (entries 14, 15, 16). The 1850 and 1910 census entries (entries 17, 19) agree. But the 1900 census lists his birthdate as April 1840, and the 1870 and 1880 census ages are consistent with that (8, 11, 18). (I have not been able to find him living in the National Soldiers Home in 1900, although the register (16) suggests he should be.)
