During the war

He also served in company B of the 53rd Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3, 4). He enlisted and was mustered in as a private at Reading, Pennsylvania, on 1 February 1864 (3). He was discharged on 20 June 1865 by General Order of the War Department, dated 30 May 1865 (3).

He was a private in company A of the 91st Pennsylvania (1). (The index to compiled service records does not have a cross-reference from his service in B 53rd Pennsylvania (4).)

After the war

He applied unsuccessfully for a pension from Pennsylvania on 3 January 1881 (1, 2).
