During the war

He was enlisted for one year, at Norristown, Pennsylvania, by Captain Yerkes (2). His service was credited to the Sixth Congressional District (2). He was a private in company G (1, 9).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 3, 8). He was a private, in company G (9).

After the war

In 1870, he was living in Gwynedd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (4). He was living with his wife Sarah, with Samuel, Sarah, Henry, and George (presumably their children), with John Garner (perhaps his father?) and with another person (4). He was a farmer, and owned $600 in personal property (4).

In 1880, he was living in Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (5). He was living with his wife Sarah and children Sallie and George (5). He was a farmer (5).

In 1890, he was living in Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (post office North Wales) (3).

On 23 August 1892, he applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (7, 8).

In 1900, he was living in Upper Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (6). He was living with his daughter Sallie and with a boarder (6). He did not list an occupation (6).

He died in 1905 (8).
