He was discharged from a camp in the field, on 11 January 1863, on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 3, 4 [10 Jan], 5, 7 [11 Jan]). He was a private in company A (1, 2, 8).

After the war

On 2 February 1871, he applied unsuccessfully for a pension (4, 6).

In 1890, he was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (5).

He was buried in Montgomery Cemetery, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (7).
