He was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania to the 91st Pennsylvania (1, 2, 5). He served as a private, and was not assigned to a company, in the 91st Pennsylvania (1, 5 [co. G]).

On 8 February 1875, he successfully applied for a pension (3, 4).
